Introduction
Shams AI is an intelligent Quranic learning platform designed to help students, teachers, and Islamic institutions track and analyze Hifz (memorization), revision, and structured Quranic study.
It combines daily progress tracking, custom lesson types, automatic analytics, and role-based dashboards in a single platform — so individuals, families, and full organizations can use the same toolset at the level of detail they need.
Who is Shams AI for?
Shams AI is built around five primary roles, each with their own dashboard and feature set.
Students
Whether you're a self-directed learner or part of a class, you can log daily progress, see your growth in charts, and stay in sync with your teacher.
- Memorization (Hifz) tracking by Juz / Surah / Ayah
- Revision (Murāja'ah) logs
- Attached / Sabaqi lesson tracking
- Personal analytics and progress charts
Teachers
Teachers manage their student roster, record sessions, design custom lessons, and review analytics — independently or as part of a larger organization.
- Add and organize students
- Record sessions one-by-one or in batch
- Design custom lesson types with flexible fields
- Review individual and class-wide analytics
Organization admins
Run a Hifz academy, school, or full institution end-to-end — programs, classes, teachers, students, permissions, and reporting.
- Create programs and classes
- Invite teachers and additional admins
- Enroll students individually or via enrollment forms
- View organization-wide analytics and capacity
Parents
Stay informed about your child's learning without needing to ask. Once linked, you can see daily records, charts, and homework status.
System administrators
For multi-organization deployments. Used by Shams AI staff to manage organizations, accounts, and platform settings — most users will not see this role.
Core concepts
A handful of concepts run through the entire platform. Learning these makes the rest of the docs easier.
| Concept | What it is |
|---|---|
| Record | A single dated entry that captures what a student did in one session — typically memorization, revision, or attached. |
| Memorization (Hifz) | New material the student is committing to memory. |
| Revision (Murāja'ah) | Previously memorized material being repeated and refined. |
| Attached / Sabaqi | Recently memorized material reviewed alongside new memorization to reinforce retention. |
| Custom lesson | A flexible lesson type a teacher designs (e.g. Tajwīd evaluations, fluency tests). |
| Program | A learning track inside an organization (e.g. "Boys Hifz", "Girls Tajwīd"). |
| Class | A group of students taught by one or more teachers, usually inside a program. |
| Parent key | A unique 12-character code that lets a parent link their account to a student. |
