Setting Up Classes

Create classes inside programs and assign teachers and students.

⏱️ 8 min read · 📚 For Organizations · 📅 Updated April 2026

Overview

A class is the unit teachers actually teach. It's a set of students (and one or more teachers) inside a program.

Creating a class

  1. Pick a program

Open the program, then click + New class.

  2. Name the class

Conventional naming helps when you have many: "Boys Hifz — Section A", "Boys Hifz — Section B".

  3. Assign teacher(s)

Pick one or more teachers from your existing roster. You can also leave the class teacher-less and assign later.

  4. Optional: capacity

Limit how many students can be in the class.

  5. Optional: schedule

Days and times — used for attendance tracking.

  6. Save

    You can now add students.

Adding students to a class

Three ways:

  • From the class — open the class and click Add students.
  • From the student — open the student profile and assign them to a class.
  • Via an enrollment form — set the form to auto-assign new submissions to a class.

Moving students between classes

From the student profile, change the class assignment. The student's records follow them. See Student Transfers.

Classes with multiple teachers

You can assign more than one teacher per class — useful for team-teaching or when one teacher covers Hifz and another covers Tajwīd. All assigned teachers see the class in their dashboard.

Archiving a class

Archive a class once it has ended. Records stay. Students aren't removed from the platform.
